Super Summer Theater, Pink Polish, Jubilee! Meet and Greet

Friday, our only day off, we went to see Oliver! another show with an exclamation mark at the end of the name. ;). The theater is out in the middle of the desert. It is so beautiful. As the sun set, we put our blanket down and ate delicious food. The weather was perfect and the show was so fun! I love that musical and remembered all the songs by heart from when I watched it on VHS 100 years ago. πŸ™‚

I’m also getting my audition outfit ready for Monday! At jubilee we have to reaudition for our jobs every 6 months. It’s very intense!
This is my pink audition outfit. Is this legal? So weird to audition for a job like this. πŸ™‚ but I love it.

I did my first meeting and greeting session today at Ballys in front of the Jubilee! Theater. πŸ™‚ it was fun but the hat is extremely heavy! Yikes!

I know I’m super cheating with these mirror shots. But it’s just too tempting and handy to ignore! I attended a seminar on email marketing and social media today hosted by Constant Contact at the Microsoft store in South Coast Plaza. It lived up to my expectations but I didn’t learn too many new things. I learned you can make your own QR code. Which is kewl. Shannah of The Student Stylist and I were the youngest attendees. But hey, man are we on our game and ahead of the pack. We are social media experts and proud of it. It’s a highly sought after skill people are paying big bucks for. Sumpthin’ to think about. Anyways, I wanted to look stylishly professional so I went with black cigarette slacks can I call them that? And an airy blouse with a cute elephant print. Red lips and nails for drama. I was wearing black high heels but they’re cheap Charlotte Russe heels so they were digging in to my feets. No bueno.

Some New Things

Did a bit of shopping this week and here is what I got:

Victoria’s Secret Beach Sexy Self Tan. $12.00.Β  A friend recommended I get it because it is so awesome.Β  So I tried it, and I do like it.Β  I think I put too much on every time though because it starts to smell nasty like how self tanning lotion usually smells.Β  In the bottle, however, it does smell nice, like a crisp lemonade on the beach with a waft of coconut oil.Β  I would recommend it because it’s not a gradual tanner.Β  You can see the results right away which I like.Β  I mean c’mon I got stuff to do!Β  Only $12.00 and the bottle is beautiful!Β  It doesn’t look like it’s available online.Β  I got mine in the store.

Essie “Fiji” Nail Polish.Β  $8.00.Β  Michael and I are avid viewers of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” to almost an unhealthy degree.Β  So when I saw last season’s “Bachelor” “winner” Emily wearing this color, I had to get it.Β  This color is so pretty and I really like it.Β  I think it brings out my tan, but maybe it’s in my imagination.Β  πŸ˜‰

OH! P.S:Β  I never did an update on my CND pink shellack nails.Β  I would not get it again.Β  YES it does work.Β  The polish stayed gorgeously perfect on the tips of my nails the entire 2 weeks.Β  Not a single chip or scratch or dent.Β  However, around the bed of the nail was the disaster area: All the edges started pealing up and I could see a good bit of space where my nails grew so they just looked bad.Β  I started scratching off the polish and it was not a pretty sight let me tell you.Β  Plus, it is really thick gel so you can’t just paint over the growth area with new polish like I would usually do.Β  Don’t waste your $40.00.Β  I got sick of the color real fast and just wanted to acetone it off but I wanted to get my monies worth!Β  Just buy a bottle of your fav polish and paint away!

Forever 21 gold leaf necklaces. $5.80 and $4.80.Β  Since I just bought the new Michael Kors chronograph gold watch, I needed some cute gold jewelry to match.Β  I thought these would be some fun summery pieces to add to my outfits.Β  The leaves in the necklace on the left are so delicate they don’t look cheap and tarnished.Β  (yet).Β  :p

What are some late summer must have items on your list?

P.P.S:Β  This is my 200th post!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Pink Shellac Nails

Shellac is the hot new way to do nail polish. I got it done yesterday at Sea Nails in HB on Main St. The process does take quite awhile, but maybe a little shorter than acrylic nails. You have to do a base coat, then UV lamp radiate your hand for a minute, then color, more UV lamp, another color layer, another UV zap, top coat, and a final UV bath. After all the UV lamping, maybe it was psychological, but my hands felt very hot and dry. I didn’t like the feeling. However, my nails are very bright and shiny! And thick! I was scraping tape off of a price tag today and I thought “oh great, my polish is going to be ruined.” But they look perfect! The CND Shellac website says it’s suppose to last 2 weeks which is better than the usual 2 day polish manicure. I feel like if this really does last I’ll be addicted. I’ll just make sure to wear sunscreen on my hands next time. I’ll post an update of my nails in one week and then again after 2 weeks. We’ll see if this really does work!
