Lady Gaga Artrave in Las Vegas

I forgot to post about our amazing weekend in Las Vegas!  WHAT! Unacceptable! Kara, Meradith, and I had a fantastic weekend in Vegas and I am SO happy I got to visit Kara on her birthday weekend!  I had to go before I started back at Disneyland, and Gaga was in town, it was just meant to be!!

First of all: GAGAAAAAAAAA!!!!  Seeing her in concert was one of my “bucket list” type of things to do, so I couldn’t wait to go with one of my best friends! 😀

Kara is also my BFF because she gets the best hookupssss as one of the best PR associates in the state!!! :p  We had a beyond amazing 10 course meal at Joel Robouchon’s L’Atelier at the MGM Grand before the concert.  The quail stuffed with fois gras is one of their signature dishes, as you can see on the website, and it was exquisite.  I highly recommend this intriguing dining spot if you are ever in Vegas.  The photo below features some of the other dishes we ate including lobster, oysters, and stuffed peppers with shaved parmesan. Oh and we also got four desserts each. YUM.

For Kara’s second evening of birthday celebrations we headed to the Gold Spike in Downtown Las Vegas which has something for everyone!  Including guys who buy you drinks all night and move on to the closest flowery skirt wearing hooker he can find when he knows it’s not going to happen!  BUT let’s not discuss that! 🙂  There’s a cute band, a DJ, hopscotch, inside and outside bars, pool tables, pizza, etc!  The Gold Spike is also “home” to Zappos’s “Campus” or whatever Google-type community thing they’re trying to do.  Overall a great night! We got our makeup done at Sephora before going out. I mean, we did ALL of my favorite things!!!!

To close out the weekend I went and saw my gorgeous friends in the new and improved Jubilee! -The Showgirl Reborn!  I must say I had a great time even though some songs were just out of place and some changes were cringe worthy.  I LOVED seeing everyone in the show.  They are so talented and I can’t believe I am lucky enough to call the cast my friends and family forever.  So lucky to have been in the show as well!  Missing those glamorous showgirl days!

For the Boys

Well this post got lost in the fold as well.  But since Lucie is coming over tomorrow, it seems fitting to post!  Back in our Jubilee! days, 1 year ago.  :p

The girls of Jubilee got together to send out this postcard to Lucie’s hubby in the Marine Corps along with his…co-workers? Friends?    I hear it was well received! 😉  Thanks, boys!!  Enjoy.

One Day Till We Board the Ship!!!!

Celebrity cruises has done it again!! That’s a line from one of our shows…. But only one day until cruise embarkation for 5 months!!!! The last 3 1/2 weeks have gone by so fast. I do not feel ready but can’t wait to start this new adventure!!! I will try and post as much as possible but will be without internets most of the time or off doing something fabulous like swimming with turtles in Hawaii. No big deal. So tired after 8 hours of rehearsal today. Time for bed !! Below is a photo of our official Century cast name #ethnicmovements. Lol.

Rehearsals with my new Celebrity Century cast have been crazy!! We have been at it non stop 6 days a week, 8 hours a day, learning 3 production shows!!!! It is definitely a lot harder than I thought it would be!!! However, our cast is amazing and we had so much fun hanging out together on Freemont Street in Las Vegas for Halloween!!  We were the three hocus pocus witches, or, just a red head, brunette, and a blonde, so it happened to work out!  We were quite the hit on Freemont St and had random people asking to take pictures with us every minute of the night!!! hahahaha The Century isn’t going to know what hit it!!! :p  (oooooo bad cruise ship joke……… :/ lol)

Tonight we went to see Megan in her last performance in Tony and Tina’s Wedding at Bally’s Las Vegas as The Nun before she leaves with us as a singer in our cast on the ship!  Was a fun time!!

I can’t wait to go on the ship and hang out on the beaches of Hawaii, Bahamas, Mexico and spend 5 months with these crazy sons of bitches.  It’s gonna be a blast!!!!!!!!!!! 😀

My Last Day at The Jubes In Videos!

IMG_7057

I thoroughly enjoyed my 1 1/2 years at Jubilee! here in Las Vegas.  I am still so honored to have been a part of the 32 year old spectacular- the last remaining showgirl spectacle on the strip!   I am especially thankful given the recent dramaaaa floating around regarding the Jubilee overhaul.  Mr. Frank Gatson Jr, “choreographer to the stars,” (AKA BEYONCE) has signed on to revamp Jubilee after it has pretty much stayed the same show for 32 years.  Now that the show is threatening to change, I’m so happy to have been in at least one of the “original” versions of the show.  Who knows, maybe it will largely stay the same with some great additions of…LED screens, holographic people, and HIGHER DANCE HEELS! OH GOD FORGET IT!!! IT IS ALL DOWNHILL!!! RUN!  Just joshin…. I really do think the show needs it.

I personally agree that:  1. It needs somewhat of a story line.  Or at least blocks of story lines.  Like “Showgirls through the years” or “Las Vegas” or “Hollywood Movie Musicals” or “Beyonce Rules the World.”  I don’t know, just some sort of semblance of a seamless show.  2. It is boring.  Take out those terrible variety acts PLEASE!!!! and just make the show shorter, don’t add a hologram of Danny The Cube Guy twirling shit.  It is not going to be better.  3.  I agree with the costume updates for the dudes.  Those sparkly t-shirts do NOT complement our rhinestone magnificent behemoths.  They just don’t.

Other than that, he wants to “look at raising the heel height.”  Ugh yikes. No thanks.  And change the choreo.  Has he ever choreographed for musical theater, let alone topless musical theater?  He might be in over his head.

Reality is finally kicking in in fantasy Natalie land and I have less than a week until I begin rehearsals with Mike Maloney Productions and learn new shows to dance on the Celebrity Century cruise ship!!  First Disneyland, then Jubilee, now I am starting another dream job on my list…it’s amazing!  I’ve started to pack…nope…started to think about what to pack.  And then I do nothing.  Can’t wait to spend the week taking care of business (nails, massages, go karting…the usual) and then start sweating it out in the rehearsal room.  Looking forward to working 6 days again, but this time its 9am-5pm rehearsals for a whole month!  Ugh!  Better get used to that normal people time.  Yuck.

Here is a video I smashed together of all the videos I took on my last day at the Jubes.  Hopefully there aren’t too many boobs in it!  If you find it boring, it might be because of the lack of boobs, or you just should not watch my videos cuz you suck.  Anywhoo, I had an amazing last day and I hope you enjoy the 8 minute video!  Thanks to all my wonderful friends in the Jubilee family who made me feel so loved and special.  I will never forget you! 😀

Showgirl Makeup…Uh….Tutorial?

IMG_7063

IMG_7138

Well…I would like to preface saying my last day at the Jubes was a little bit busy sooo I kind of forgot that I had wanted to film my whole makeup process…so I started in the middle, cut out the middle, but managed to get my lips and lashes filmed.

Well… I would also like to say that I am just glad I got a little bit of my experience at the jubes on video.  I also love the conversations that were going on in the dressing room while I did my makeup so Ill include those in a future video.

This one is just quick to show a little of what the makeup process is: quite intensive in heavy application, a la drag queen makeup, but we can really get it all done in less than 10 minutes.  We then have 3 minutes to put on underwear, fishnets, LaDuca silver heels, underwire. Then at 2 minutes you put on gloves, necklace, earrings, bracelets, skirt, and you’re on!

I use all MAC makeup, because we get a little discount, but my lipstick is Walmart Retro Red for 99 cents!!!!! LOL.  “Get that classic showgirl red from your local Walmart!”  Cracks me up.

Our huge lashes are “special order” from who knows where in Asia and each showgirl has to pay $4 per set to the Jubilee office. Ridiculous.  Some girls use one pair per 6 months, I think I went through 6 pairs in 3 contracts, so 1 pair every 3 months.

Thanks for readin’!

Natalie’s Best Vegas Haunts 2013

Last October in Vegas was seriously one of my favorite months ever!!!  I mean: pumpkin flavored everything, a plethora of candy, and so much stuff to do!!! The BEST Halloween Haunts according to moi are as follows:

maxresdefault

1.  Fright Dome! www.frightdome.com I am going tomorrow night and am SO EXCITED!!  If you’re familiar with Knott’s Scary Farm in So Cal it is very similar, but scarier! -They fill the whole Adventure Dome with fog and monsters!!!  Aghhhh!!!  Definitely the best place to go and worth the money!!

20120929-052653.jpg

2.  The Asylum.  Last Year it was Downtown Las Vegas, but this year it is at Meadows Mall by the 95.  SO SCARY!!  Hotel Fear is not as scary, I recommend skipping it, but the Asylum really scared us shitless last year!!!    http://lasvegashaunts.com/location.php

Screen Shot 2013-10-17 at 3.17.41 AM

3.  Bonnie Screams at Bonnie Springs.  http://wickedhaunts.com/

I haven’t personally attended this particular haunt yet because SOMEBODY went without me. Not naming any names: Kara.  OOpz.  😉  But I hear it is a fun little ghost town to go to and they have lots of halloween attractions!  Definitely planning on going this weekend!

Screen Shot 2013-10-17 at 3.26.22 AM

4.  Sin City Scare Fair.  On Sunset Rd just off The Strip. http://sincityscarefair.com/  This Halloween fair is new to Vegas this year and sounds kind of awesome.  They have a go kart race track WITH ZOMBIES!  I cant even….like…  I have to go!

Screen Shot 2013-10-17 at 3.45.55 AM

5.  The Las Vegas Halloween Parade!  http://www.thelasvegashalloweenparade.com/  It is Downtown on Halloween night at 7pm followed by a free after party until 3am!  Sounds kind of awesome.  And since i am NOT dancing in Jubilee this season, I can go! How exciting!  Maybe I will see you there!

93deee0ff7711276e0501f876e108bde

6.  The End Bar and Grill.  S. Decatur Blvd.  If you’re looking for a place to whet your whistle after screaming and running from crazy clowns with chainsaws all night, head to The End, a zombie apocalypse themed bar and grill!  I’m sure I will definitely be needing a drink, or two, after this crazy list!

Are you going to attempt any frightening Halloween mazes?

If you are of the nutsier persuasion there is the Freakling Bros Trilogy of Terror.  Each maze gets scarier, and the third and final maze is “interactive,” which means they manhandle you and stuff!  Omg no thank you!!!

And I have to mention poor Eli Roth’s Goretorium on the Strip just filed for bankruptcy not even making it to another Halloween night. Yikes.  Don’t try and go there!  $10 million spent on that haunted house.  Sayonara!

The Fetish and Fantasy Ball at Hard Rock Hotel sounds like quite the night, but I am not shelling out at least $50 to arrive at 1am, 3 hours after the party started, to hang out with drunken jerks.  Ill take the free downtown parade. 😉

Looks like The Act at The Venetian is having a paranormal Halloween party on October 31st.  Could be pretty fun, if it’s not too crowded!

Ok for reals, these two parties on Halloween sound like my kind of thing:

Body English at Hard Rock
● Rock n’ Horror 80s Halloween Party on October 31 at 10:30 p.m.

and

Commonwealth in Fremont East
● Monster Mash Prom Oct. 30 to transform bar into spooky vintage horror flick
● Guests are invited to “rock zombie prom attire”

http://commonwealthlv.com/events/monster-mash/

Mmmmmmmmmm I think I will be attending Monster Mash Prom.  SO awesome!!!!  Now I need a prom date. (high school girl giggles)

Have fun and SCREAMMM!!!!!!
