Christmas in the Tropics

Wow, what a very different Christmas it will be this year.  The last few Christmas’s I have spent away from home and it has been a little rough.  Last year I was aboard the Celebrity Century touring around Hawaii, Mexico, and the Bahamas.  I remember Skyping my dad and sister and we were laughing about how every 5 seconds they saw a different person come into the shot to sell us jewelry or sunglasses in Puerto Vallerta.  Though I was not near my family and friends at home, I had made some new wonderful friends at sea.  Being Christmas Eve, we all bought ourselves a new pair of tropical sunglasses; as ya do in Mexico.  It was such gorgeous, hot weather with a cool ocean breeze.  We wore cute summery outfits and had our toes dug deep in the sand at our beachfront restaurant.  It was utter paradise.  We sipped sugar rimmed margaritas and lunched on macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi.  Even though this sounds like perfection, I honestly cannot wait to have my traditional, normal Christmas at home with my family.  🙂

Merry Christmas to the Fab Four!  ❤ Love you girls!

Chi Town

Last week I went to Chicago for the first time and I LOVE this city!!!  We did lots of tourist attractions like walked around Millennium Park, saw the bean, and ate deep dish pizza!  Which I am now obsessed with.  I went to Navy Pier, went on an architecture boat tour of all the cool buildings, and walked around Lincoln Park Zoo.  We had drinks on a rooftop bar overlooking the beach and downtown in our hoity-toity preppy wear, which I very much enjoyed, as it is quite a different scene from Vegas.  So many things I didn’t get to do like see a Second City show, many different museums, and a bike/food tour, which just sounds fanfrikintastic.  Next time, Chicaaaago!

We also saw Book of Mormon which is the “BEST MUSICAL OF THE LAST 25 YEARS” as the photo above claims.  But I would venture to say its the best musical EVER!  I would pay hundreds of dollars again to see it many more times.  GO SEE IT!  If you enjoy laughing hysterically till you cry, witty well written irony, gay songs, gay tap numbers, and making fun of EVERYONE, this musical is for you! So good.  I highly recommend.

Pizza.  Just look at that ooey-gooey goodness.

Important buildings and water.

Me and my cousins Brigid and Matt.  They grew up in Illinois and now live in Chicago!  So good seeing them both!

Come to the Peepshow!

Awesome Friday.

Started the day off at Moorea Beach Club at Mandalay Bay with about 30 Jubilee girls.  Love them!

Then went to happy hour at Double Helix Wine and Whiskey Bar in Town Square.  Great red sangria, amazing food, and lovely sitting outside.  Will definitely be going there frequently.  I highly recommend it!

After dinner we went to see Kelly, my former Jubilee dressing room buddy, (in the red dress below)  in Peepshow! at Planet Hollywood with Coco!

She was amazing and we are so proud of her!!!! Go see Peepshow!

Got some secret shots of the Peepshow 4th Anniversary!   Coco and her cute pups.  Adorbs.

Last night was pretty epic.  Kara and I drank in (literally and figuratively) the awesomeness of Las Vegas.  We were VIPs at Body English’s Grand Re-Opening at Hard Rock Hotel.  We drank free drinks and ate delicious eclairs.  But most importantly, we paused and remembered, the seemingly lofty  conversations at the time, about how after college we were both going to move to Las Vegas and Kara was going to do PR for the hotels on the strip, and I was going to be a Vegas Showgirl.  And here we were, VIP invitees surrounded by the most influential media, television, PR, newspaper people in town.  Not too shabby!  And Body English was awesome!  Music was great, vibe is cool, atmosphere enjoyable.  Highly recommend it and will be going back often! It’s a nightclub AND afterhours club, which means it will be open late!  Good for us night owls!

After shmoozing with Vegas big-wigs we headed downtown in the rain to do some bar hopping at Dont Tell Mama, Commonwealth, The Griffin, and Drink and Drag.  Always love my Fridays here in Vegas and this one didn’t let us down!  We took to the dance floor/stage at Drink and Drag, which was very entertaining.  Never a dull moment there with the Jubilee! girls!  Especially loved singing to Rock of Ages Musical soundtrack in my car with Kara.  Love you, babe!  🙂  We did it!

Throwin’ On My Louboutins

I mean….I had such an awesome couple of days!
First I was Skipper with our Barbie photoshoot….

Then I went to pole class today at Pole Dance Fitness which was lots of fun! I did a headstand for the first time! SO cool!

Then Elyse and I went straight to Caesar’s Palace for lunch and shopping but before we could even stop for a bathroom break we were in Christian Louboutin and there I was buying my brand spankin new high heels with the beautiful red soles!

They were my Christmas present from my daddy, and half from my New Year’s Eve gig! So thank you daddy!!!! 🙂

After that little pit stop we had lunch at Cheesecake Factory and spent more money doing more shopping. Went to Elyse’s and watched DEXTER!!!!!
For dinner we met up with lots of friends at Mint Indian Bistro which was delicious!!!!! Highly recommend this place over that India Palace! They were amazing, nice, food was great, loved it. After dinner we met up with Kelly for drinks at Crown and Anchor, our (until now) favorite pub to go to. They are discontinuing the raspberry cider which I am very depressed about. 😦 Not happy about this! But I got a pear cider and we chatted until 2:30am.

Such a great day off! Back to work tomorrow and then Jubilee! auditions are Monday!! Going to be another awesome week!!! Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!! What are your plans?

Friday: The Asylum, Heart Attack Grill, Bar Hopping

Today I woke up at 4pm and had some breakfast, Cinnamon Toast Crunch for the win.  Met up with friends in downtown LV and went to The Asylum, a crazy scary Halloween maze right on Freemont St! We were scared out of our minds!!!!! I have to say it was scarier than Knott’s Scary Farm, maybe because it was 8 minutes long, or just because the people were so good.  They said it was ranked #13 Scariest Haunted House sooooooo thats pretty good.

After that we went to Downtown Cocktail Lounge. I got an interesting Pumpkin Spice drink that was not good so ordered a cherry flavored concoction called an Onomatopoeia instead.

After that we headed to the Heart Attack Grill!!! I was SO excited to go because I saw it on Diners, Dives, and Drive Ins. We all donned patient robes and ordered our Single Bypass Burgers with fries. It was pretty delicious topped with 5 slices of bacon. There were some very large people in the joint, but the best/worst part is that if you weigh yourself on the scale and you weigh over 350 lb your burger is free! 😮

Helping to fight anorexia one burger at a time!!! Or should I say 4!

The scale outside where passersby can see how much you weigh!!!  So we all stood on it together.

Single Coronary Bypass Burgers

Chocolate Butter Fat Shake topped with a slab of butter!

Elyse and her Quadruple Coronary Bypass burger with 20 slices of bacon!

After burgers we bar hopped downtown to Beauty Bar where there are super sparkely walls and fake hair dryers, Don’t Tell Mama where there are amazing singing waitresses who play piano and harmonize, and The Griffen. Finally, to celebrate Derrick’s departure we ended the night at gay club Share.

Me and Kelly at Beauty Bar!

Another fantastic evening in Vegas if I do say so myself till 4:30am.

Tonight at work is the first day of my second contract! All the newbies start tonight so ill no longer be “New Girl.” 😉
