Beach Days

You know what I hate?  SMALL BEACH TOWELS!  Whoever thought to make a beach towel NOT THE SIZE OF AN ADULT PERSON?!  I don’t get it.  I have a big beach bag for a reason!  hehe  If anyone else is bothered by this predicament as much as me, here is a list of larger than life, well, maybe larger than 5 foot, beach towels!  These are all over 70 inches long, or 6 feet, so hopefully they will be close to getting rid of that terrible sand on calves problem when out catching rays on the beach.  Is anyone else going to purchase an extra large beach towel?

Bed, Bath, and Beyond

Beautiful Beaches, Part 1

After looking at some amazing articles on beautiful beaches,(Like these from Thrillist) I decided to post some of my own photos from where I’ve been recently.  Just to remember the warm 85 degree temps, and how tan I was!  Raised in a beach town, I still consider myself more of a pool and resort kinda gal, but after cruising for 5 months, I think I’m even more of a beach snob.  Uh oh! Oh, and this post is kind of long, so I’ll have to post a part 2!

Freeport, Bahamas

Pretty hotel on the beach, warm temps, warm water, but we got caught in rainstorms a couple times.  Meh.

Cococay, Royal Caribbean’s Private Island

‘Nuff said there.  Private island?  Sign me up!  The water is SO warm because it’s only a few feet deep!  Clear water, white sand, and barely anyone there!  Yes.

Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos

The weather was not so much oven hot, but more summer breezy.  At the end of our at 5pm we were a bit chilly!  I prefer my beaches to be HOT, HOT, HOT! Next.

Black Rock Beach, Maui, Hawaii

This place was Le Gorg!  Those clouds made for an amazing sunset and the big rocks made for good snorkeling!  At sunset a Hawaiian warrior runs onto Ka’anapali Beach and lights the torches along the black rock.  He offers high lei to the ancient Hawaiian gods, and takes a head first leap off the cliff into the water.  SO cool!

St. Croix

My FAVORITE beach we went to! We got food and drinks from the beach hut pictured below, and then laid on the beach for hours!  I brought my inner tube and floated around and snorkeled!  A surprising amount of ocean flora and fauna here!

St Maarten

We didn’t get to go to the famous Airport Beach, but that just means I’ll have to go back!  It’s just beautiful!

Surf and Sand Hotel, Laguna Beach

My aunt Rita, second from left, reps hotels and treated her 3 favorite nieces to a night at the Surf and Sand Hotel on the water in Laguna Beach, CA. The hotel is gorgeous and the views are even better. There’s nothing in front of the hotel but beach and lapping waves. Unfortunately it was raining this weekend, but we sat by the fire and chatted. It was lovely!

We had the penthouse suite, which can go for up to $3,000 a night in the summer. We felt very special.

Yesterday night we went to the bar in the hotel called Splashes which is literally right on the beach. You can’t get a better view of the ocean. We watched the sunset and ordered drinks, truffle cheese fries, calamari, and fish tacos. We had a great time hanging out together with family we hardly ever get to see since everyone is so busy!

Thanks so much to Rita and Elite Resorts and Spas. If you’re in the mood for an amazing weekend at a fabulous resort, call them up!! 🙂 and tell them Natalie sent you!!!!

Santa Catalina Island Getaway

Catalina Island is probably my favorite place to go in the summertime.  It is so romantic, beautiful, warm, and fun!  We went snorkeling off of the casino and then tanned on the beach alllll day.

Luckily we got these photos from out day on the island.  I told James how to use his Nikon camera…but all the pictures turned out black…  Never trust me with camera advice!!!!! Whoooppss!! Sorry James! 🙂

Just Another Day in Paradise

Can’t complain about this scene too much!  Just laying around, tanning, snorkeling, and drinking margaritas on Descanso Beach on Catalina Island.  I could have stayed there for days, even weeks!  Such a perfect day with James, Sam, and my dad.  Except for a slight photo mishap, which I feel horribly about…. to be discussed later…. I had an amazing time!! 🙂

Huntington Beach

Went shopping with James and Sam today at South Coast Plaza for a good 4 hours.  Then walked to the beach in Huntington and played in the water.  Was pretty nice and not too cold surprisingly.  I am exhausted!  A much too eventful day for me.  haha.  Got some good stuff at the mall though.  For dinner my dad smoked some tri tip and we had a delicious meal complete with smoked garlic cheese bread.  MMMM!
