Time to head to the Jubilee! theater to do makeup.  Got my first pair of humongous eyelashes today from the manager.  I’m a real showgirl!  That’s what she told me! :)  Gotta do makeup, tights, heels, some costumes, cast, some sets.  Get to walk down the huge amazing finale stairs tonight.  Freaking out. Rehearsal tonight till about 3am. Then tomorrow is the big day!  My opening night in Jubilee!! I am so thrilled to be with this cast and in this amazing show.  Once again, please come see me if you’re out in Vegas!  You won’t want to miss this show!

Gotta go get ready!

Time to do my showgirl dips!  :)

Here we GO!

You may have thought that blog title sounds excited…but I am not.  I love Jubilee and wanna do the show! I dont want a day off!! Luckily I have rehearsal at 10am tomorrow, followed by more rehearsals that night till 2 or 3am! WOO!

Here are some highlights of my week:

Me at my mirror!  That blank space behind me is where my costumes will go.

Over my mirror.  Im known as Nat.  Because there are 2 other Natalies.  : /  haha

And here are my special silver brand new pair of LaDuca shoes!!  :)  So pumped.  Aren’t they gorgeous?

Did some work today and ate lots of…junk food…

I think Ill just sit and sleep for the rest of the night.  Sounds like a great plan since I haven’t even gotten out of my PJs!  WOO!  oh man.

Hope y’all are doing well!

Don’t think I have any photos from today, but it’ll just be a quick update.

At 1:45pm I had a wig fitting.

Had a second four hour rehearsal today from 2-6pm and learned two more numbers for a total of three.  Feeling very honored and special to be learning the numbers one on one from a real showgirl.  My dance captain is the epitome of awesome.  She’s been in the show for five years and knows every spot.  Insane!  The dance numbers are so cool.  This show is really fun and I cant wait for y’all to come see it!  I can’t wait till I know everything like the back of my hand.  Learning and keeping it in my brain is the tough part.

After 4 hours of rehearsals. Went to do costume fittings.  I tried on the most amazing outfits in the entire world today.  Dripping in diamonds, jewels, feathers and sequins.  I felt like the luckiest girl.  Got fitted for about 6 costumes and hats and headpieces.  Bob Mackie is the costume designer with all the original designs and costumes in the show from years and years ago.  Finale is the craziest outfit spanning about 5 feet wide of feathers.  :o  Can’t wait to be in the show!

Tomorrow I have morning rehearsals at 10am, watch the show at 7:30pm, then more rehearsing on stage in between shows at 10pm.

Till tomorrow!  TIme to get some much needed sleep!

Goodnight!

PS: Also want to mention that THIS blog post actually happened.  Yay!

WOW. Today I endured my first 4 hours of rehearsals for Jubilee!  I was by myself with my awesome dance captain in the basement of the stage learning the most difficult dance number of my life.  Never have I had to learn such a hard dance in such a short amount of time.  Classical ballet is very predictable.  Tombe pas de bourre glissade jette.  This is like: KICK STEP TOUCH TOUCH PAS DE BOURRE KICK TURN TOUCH ARM HAND LOOK JUMP PUNCH RUN UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS AND SMILE!

Surprised Im still awake right now, but I had an awesome day.  Going around backstage still not believing that Im going to be in the cast.  Still feel like an awkward visitor to the set.  And known as “the new girl.” Womp womp.  Also, sitting next to another Natalie in the dressing room.  So ill be Nat.

Bally’s signage

Paris signage.

More awesome Bally’s signage.  Ill be trying on my costumes tomorrow!!! AGHHHHHH! They are ah-ma-zing.

Fiona and I were guests of Jubilee! last night and the show was awesome.  It’s definitely very classic Vegas cheese and camp.  But hey, that’s what I’m all about!  What’s life for if you can’t smile, laugh, and dance?  Oo.  Good quote.  That will go in my memoirs of a Vegas showgirl.  ;) HA HA.  Anyways, we had a great time and I can’t wait till Fifi gets back to Vegas!

Model and showgirl.  Sisters.  :)

Got my contract!!!! It’s the big time!!  I made it!!!

Still can’t believe Im really here.  Gotta get some rest before another full day of rehearsals tomorrow in my brand spankin new pair of LaDucas, costume fittings, and watching the show again.

Its 12pm?!  I thought I had time to blog post but I guess I don’t!

WOW!  What a whirlwind of a weekend! We set off for Vegas Saturday morning and came straight to check out my prospective room.  The house is gorgeous and my roommate is awesome.  The neighborhood is under construction, so lets hope that doesn’t wake me up at 7am after getting home from work at 2 or 3 or 4am.  GAH!

My amazing moving angels Kara and Fiona helped me move in, shop for essentials at Target, and provide moral support.  I really couldn’t have done it without them here.

3 carts at Target.  I deserve an award, Target.

Kara and I in Vegas outside my new house!

My cute lil bed.

Showgirl eating a burger @ Serendipity 3.  Thaaaaaaaat’s me!

Sad Fiona had to go back to Orange County but I know she’ll be back soon!

Yesterday Fiona and I went to see Jubilee and went backstage to see where I will be “working”!  Can’t really call it work.  I’m going to be dancing in a famous Las Vegas show on the strip!  Dripping in diamonds, feathers, and furs.

I have rehearsal today at 2pm and a shoe fitting at 6pm.

:o

Here we go!

Remember this?

Well, I sure do!

These are photos from the January 2011 Jubilee audition from The Hispanic Lifestyle blog. Follow the link to read the full article. I am in the pink leotard…of course. The steps are difficult, the costumes are crazy, and yet, this will be me in just…weeks?…days?  Can’t really believe it.  Loving life dancing at Disney, but the glitz and glamor of crystals and Vegas are just beckoning me to join them!  :)

I’ll be updating my blog hopefully at least once a week.  Lots to discuss and update the public on! ;)
